Decreasing sea ice due to climate change is a major threat to Arctic marine mammals. A joint study with the Long Marine Lab (UCSC) and Alaska SeaLife Center examines the potential effect of climate change on three species of ice-dependent seals: ringed, bearded, and spotted seals. The study examines multiple aspects of seal bioenergetics and physiology.
