Sea otters have major impacts on their local ecosystem, and understanding the foraging behaviour will provide valuable insight into their management. Our foraging energetics study will quantifying the cost of prey acquisition in young sea otters. This allows us to understand and model the consequences of observed changes in behaviour or ecology in the wild.
